It's a jungle out there....

Well, last weekend it was a jungle! We went to see the Jungle Book at the Magik Theatre in Downtown San Antonio on Saturday and had a blast with our dear friends the Weavers.  It was such a kid-friendly experience....popcorn and drinks permitted in seats and the actors really engaged the audience.  There were also adult centered jokes to keep the adults entertained.  All in all, a great experience and the Magik Theatre is going to have some great shows for 2011-2012 season, Knuffle Bunny (Mo Willems) is one I MUST see!!!!

We also went to the Witte Museum and checked out the Amazon exhibit (which is no longer there it was the last weekend...next up is a pirate themed one, so excited to check out the new exhibit the first weekend of October).  I love the Witte, we go there at least 6 times a year.  The kids love the HEB Science Tree House, especially the rock wall and the electronic dodge ball.  We have a family membership and truly enjoy it and the cost is totally reasonable. This weekend, FOOTBALL!!!! NFL season is officially on and Steve is on his way to the UTSA/McMurray game....

(Please note I was not paid or perked to say nice things about the Magik Theatre or Witte, these are my own opinions that  I wanted to share with ya'll)

hello and good bye

Hello friends...lots going on around the US.  My heart goes out to the east coast (earthquakes and hurricanes in one week!) and for my fellow Texans who are melting due to extreme heat and humidity.  My curly hair has been  crazy and all over the place.  The odd weather has been accompanied by the rhythmic hums of cicadas. While on a walk this week with the hubby, he caught a cicada and showed it to me.  I was surprised, in my mind cicadas were just big grasshoppers.  Nope, not true at all.  (Hello my friend Mr Cicada)

My good bye was much more difficult....our TSA foster pup Ddarcy is no longer in our care.  Our awesome pup is now in the care of her future handler for Border Patrol.  Fostering her was a wonderful experience, but I cried (like a baby)....when it was time to say good bye..

La, la, la.....its August!!!!! (already!!!!!!!)

Me and the hubs at the wedding reception :)
I have been in lala land (not LA, but really- where have I been?).....I was having a blast with the Schertz Public Library's Summer Reading Club (until mid-July)....then I went to Tahoe for a week and had a blast soaking up the cool weather (so nice, so not San Antonio- no humidity, not 100 million degrees) and being in Wendy's wedding.  Then we stuck around Tahoe and had a little fun (hiking, boat ride, roulette).  Very fun, but exhausting to tell you the truth.  We got home on Thursday morning (a little after midnight), then returned to the airport at 3am (oh how I love April Toman), and then got up on Thursday morning to get the kids and puppy.  Back to school shopping. Canyon Lake. Fishing. Swimming. Day at the pool. Oil Change. Staying up late to watch a movie. Big Breakfast. Church. Training.  Home at last....ate cereal for dinner.  Now I begin to understand the wisdom of my ma, "I need a vacation from my vacation." I'm tired, I go to work tomorrow (not before a dentist appointment), and my sis is coming on Wednesday! I see coffee in my future <3....anyone else having a busy summer? August is almost over, any plans to capture the fleeting moments of summer?

4th of July and other happenings

Hi there....been super duper busy working the summer reading club at the library! I even helped build the library's float for the Schertz Jubilee!

Yep that would be a massive papermache volcano- SO FUN! and SO HOT!!! Definitely would love some rain or cooler weather about now...

Other things going on in my world- I am trying to get the guest bedroom together before Lacey visits in August.  I am making the room purple, grey and white. (Pictures will come soon!)
